October 23, 2019. The FDA’s draft includes the types of information that we have proposed to the FDA in recent months in our work with patient advocates and plastic surgeons. An investigation shows that while 3D mammograms are marketed with claims that they are better for detecting breast cancer, research has not proven they save more lives or find more deadly cancers than 2D mammograms.
